In the top of the sixth inning in the matchup between the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays, Miguel Cabrera struck his 500th career home run. The 38-year-old slugger connected on a hanging slider delivered by Steven Matz and sent it 400 feet over the right-center-field wall for a solo blast. Cabrera becomes the 28th player in MLB history and the first Detroit Tigers player to reach the five-century milestone. Miguel also becomes the first Venezuelan-born player to achieve this monumental feat.
