Shane Bieber / Lucas Giolito

The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner, Shane Bieber, and the ace of the Chicago White Sox, Lucas Giolito, squared off in a pitcher's duel yesterday evening. The two combined for 19 strikeouts over 16 scoreless innings of work and allowed just three hits apiece. Shane Bieber has now racked up 35 strikeouts over his first three starts, which ranks third all-time in MLB history. For Giolito, he joined Goose Gossage as the only Chicago White Sox pitchers to have eight or more strikeouts in each of their first three starts of the season.
