In the top of the fourth inning in the contest between the Kansas City Royals and the Seattle Mariners, Salvador Pérez connected for a game-tying, grand slam. With the blast, the 31-year-old backstop became the first player in franchise history to launch grand slams in back-to-back games. Pérez now has 36 longballs on the year, marking the second most by an American League catcher in a season, only behind Carlton Fisk with 37.
