Yadier Molina took the field yesterday for the 2,000th time behind home plate in his 18-year career, all while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. With this start, Molina became the first catcher in MLB history with 2,000 career starts at catcher with a single organization. The defensive stalwart is also now just the sixth MLB catcher ever to reach this milestone in a career, joining Ivan Rodriguez, Carlton Fisk, Bob Boone, Gary Carter and Jason Kendall.
