Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Salvador Perez each made history in pursuit to their MLB-leading home run total of 48. Guerrero Jr. launched the most single-season homers for a player age 22 or younger in MLB history. Vladimir is also the fourth youngest player in League history to finish with a share of the MLB home run title. Perez rewrote the MLB record book and clubbed the most single-season home runs by a primary catcher. The previous record was held by Johnny Bench with 45 longballs in 1970.
