On the eve of Opening Day of the 2021 MLB season, the New York Mets came to terms on a contract extension for newly acquired shortstop, Francisco Lindor. This deal will keep the four-time MLB All-Star in Queens through the 2031 season. The extension is valued as the third richest in MLB history and will make Lindor the highest paid player in franchise history.
