Fernando Tatis Jr.

After an offseason filled with new acquisitions, the Padres made their biggest investment on Wednesday evening, signing 22-year-old Fernando Tatis Jr. to a 14-year, $340-million contract. The star shortstop, who won his first career Silver Slugger Award in 2020, is the face of a Padres franchise that is on the rise. Tatis Jr.'s deal ranks third-highest in Baseball history in terms of new money and is the longest ever for years added to a player's deal.
