Cal Ripken Jr.

Cal Ripken Jr. is one of the most revered shortstops in Major League Baseball history, and on this day, he officially became the shortstop with the most career home runs. He broke a record set by Ernie Banks, who passed Ripken Jr. some words of encouragement after he broke the record. This record-breaking homer was hit in the sixth inning of a contest between the Baltimore Orioles and the Minnesota Twins.
