Although his Baltimore Orioles took home a 5-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox yesterday, catcher Adley Rutschman broke a long-held franchise rookie record. After hitting a double in the first inning of the contest to left field for what was the 33rd two-bagger of his introductory campaign, Rutschman broke Cal Ripken Jr.'s record for doubles in his rookie year, set in 1982. What's more, Ripken Jr. notched his 32 doubles in 149 games; amazingly, it took Rutschman just 108 to pick up 33.
