Verlander, who fanned 11 Yankees batters, regained his spot atop the career Postseason strikeouts leaderboard. That's not all, as Verlander's strong six-innings start not only held the hard-hitting Yankees to one run, but it was also his eighth career Postseason start in which he collected 10 or more strikeouts, which is two more starts than any other hurler in history.
