In an incredible display of resiliency, the Philadelphia Phillies clawed their way to a 6-5 extra innings victory on Friday night, taking Game 1 of the 2022 World Series. Down 5-0 after the first three innings, the Fightin' Phils plated five runs of their own to knot the game 5-5 by the end of the fifth. J.T. Realmuto's 10th-inning homer gave the Club their first lead of the night, becoming the first team in 20 years to win a World Series game after being down by five or more runs – last done by the 2002 Angels.
