Lou Brock

Hall-of-Fame outfielder Lou Brock was world-renowned for his baserunning ability, and for good reason, as on this day in 1979, he stole his 938th and final base of his career. Brock finished his career atop the legendary Billy Hamilton, who kicked 914 over the course of his career. The fateful steal occurred during a contest between Brock's St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets, which Brock and his Cardinals won, 7-4.
