Al Kaline
Future Hall of Famer announces retirement
Al Kaline - 2022 MLB TOPPS NOW® Turn Back The Clock - Card 186 - PR: 345
OCTOBER 2, 1974 — Hall-of-Fame outfielder Al Kaline announced his retirement, a decision that put his iconic, 22-year-long career to bed. Less than a month before announcing his retirement, Kaline joined the 3,000-hits club; additionally, he was a 15-time MLB All-Star and won 10 fielding awards. Tigers fans lamented the announcement of his retirement, but his 22 years of service with the Detroit Club were still enough to give them something to smile about.
