Mike Piazza

OCTOBER 1, 1993 — Mike Piazza’s rookie season with the Los Angeles Dodgers was nothing short of mythical, and on this day in 1993, he notched the 107th RBI of his rookie year. This broke a long-standing record set by Del Bissonette back in 1928, and Dodgers fans were jubilant with the breaking of this rookie record. The fateful RBI was collected in the first inning of a contest between Piazza’s Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants after a single brought home teammate Jose Offerman.
