One of the most mystifying facets of the 2022 T-Mobile Home Run Derby was Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez's performance in the first round and beyond. Rodriguez broke new ground, hitting more home runs than any rookie before him in the first round by smashing an incredible 32 longballs. The 21-year-old, Dominican-born slugger's power-hitting performance wasn't limited to the first round, as Rodriguez made it to the final round, amassing an incredible 81 home runs over the course of the contest.
