Angels dual threat Shohei Ohtani’s 2022 Major League Baseball campaign has been incredible, and as of his start in last night’s bout between his Club and the Seattle Mariners, he recorded his 165th strikeout of the year. Incredibly, this is the third most in Angels history through any pitcher’s first 20 starts, putting him behind just Nolan Ryan with 211 in 1977 and 182 in 1973. Although Ohtani’s six-inning, eight-strikeout performance wasn’t enough to lead his Club to victory, his achievement offered Angels fans something to celebrate.
