Jose Barrero's first career multi-homer game came on June 15, 2021, when he went deep twice against the Brewers at Great American Ball Park. The 23-year-old slugged his first career homer off Brandon Woodruff in the third inning and added his second in the sixth off Trevor Richards. Barrero also drove in three runs and scored twice as the Reds won 10-4. The two-homer performance marked the first time a Reds rookie had homered twice in a game since Joey Votto did it on May 6, 2008.
