Toronto Blue Jays veteran outfielder George Springer was called to pinch hit in yesterday afternoon’s contest between his Club and the Baltimore Orioles. In his single plate appearance, Springer connected with a pitch from Orioles relief man Cionel Perez to send an RBI-single to center field. Remarkably, this was Springer’s 1,000th-career hit, a tremendous milestone, and it also played a humble part in his Club’s 6-1 victory on the day.
