Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor both homered in the first inning to become the first pair of teammates to lead off a game with back-to-back home runs since 2013. The Mets' duo connected off of Miami Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara, marking the first time in franchise history that New York's opening pair went deep in the same frame. Alonso's solo shot was his 25th of the season, while Lindor's was his 18th, giving the Mets a quick 2-0 lead en route to an eventual 7-3 victory.
