Ted Williams
Becomes just 4th player to hit 500 career HRs
Ted Williams - 2022 MLB TOPPS NOW® Turn Back The Clock - Card 79 - PR: 419
JUNE 17, 1960 — On this day in 1960, Ted Williams passed an incredible milestone when he recorded the 500th home run of his Major League Baseball career. Incredibly, he was only the fourth player in MLB history to accomplish this feat. This fateful longball was smashed in the ninth inning of a contest between his Boston Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers, and was hit off Tigers hurler Hank Aguirre.
