Last night, Cincinnati Reds call-up second baseman Spencer Steer made his Major League Baseball debut in his Club's meeting with the Colorado Rockies. In the fifth inning, Steer connected with a pitch from Rockies hurler Kyle Freeland to belt the very first home run of his MLB career. What's more, Steer reached base in all of his at-bats, picking up two hits, including the home run, and was walked twice. Steer is just the 11th player in MLB history to reach base four times and homer in his debut, and the very first player to do so in a Reds jersey.
