Pirates rookie shortstop Oneil Cruz had a phenomenal at-the-plate performance in last night’s bout with the New York Mets, as the 23-year-old, Dominican Republic native notched the first three-hit game of his Major League Baseball career. Furthermore, his outing was undoubtedly highlighted by his eighth-inning, two-run longball. Remarkably, the home run went over the right-field wall on its way over the stands and into the Allegheny River. Cruz’s 3-for-5, two RBI, and two run outing did much to propel his Club to their 8-2 victory.
