New York Mets starting hurler Jacob deGrom made Major League Baseball history with his 40th consecutive start in which he allowed three or fewer runs. Remarkably, despite spending only five innings on the mound, deGrom still managed to notch a mind-numbing 13 strikeouts, while walking no Pirates batters in the process. Clearly, this record-setting performance did much to push his Mets on to their 7-3 victory on the day.
