Thirty-nine-year-old starter Justin Verlander had a phenomenal 2022 Major League Baseball campaign, picking up a jaw-dropping 18 wins, and posting a 1.75 ERA over the course of the regular season. Verlander, who won unanimously, added a third AL Cy Young Award to his collection, following his wins in 2011 and 2019. For Verlander, 2022 was a near-perfect year, as not only did he help lead his Houston Astros throughout the year, but also helped them to pick up their second World Series championship trophy in franchise history.
