For the second time in as many days, Nolan Gorman’s clutch hitting saved the day for the St. Louis Cardinals. Before a ninth-inning solo blast provided the go-ahead run to take Tuesday’s contest with the Colorado Rockies, the 22-year-old rookie connected on a two-run blast in the top of the eighth to unlock a 4-4 game on Wednesday. Gorman becomes just the fourth Cardinals hitter to hit go-ahead home runs in the eighth inning or later in consecutive days, joining Stan Musial (1948), Jose Cruz (1973) and Albert Pujols (2011).
