Spencer Strider

Armed with his high-90s fastball, Atlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Strider was simply operating at a higher level on Monday evening versus the Marlins. The 24-year-old carried a no-hitter into the top of the eighth before allowing his first hit, complemented by a 13-strikeout performance. Strider broke a tie with Hall-of-Famer John Smoltz with his ninth-straight outing recording nine-plus strikeouts, setting a Braves record. He's now two starts shy of tying another Hall-of-Famer, Nolan Ryan, who holds the MLB record with 11.
