It was the 24-year-old’s 50th career start, as he tossed seven innings of three-run ball to go along with 11 punchouts. With double-digit whiffs on the night, his season total sits at 270. He trails only Hall-of-Famer John Smoltz (276) for the most single-season strikeouts by a Braves pitcher. His 435 career punchouts are the most for any player through his first 50 career starts.
