SPENCER TORKELSON JOINS THE 50-HOMER CLUB. The Tigers slugger became the first player in franchise history to reach the 50-homer mark with a pair of solo shots in the 1st and 4th innings. Torkelson's historic night included a 450-foot blast off of Boston's Chris Sale in the 1st and a 440-foot shot off of Houston's Framber Valdez in the 4th. The 22-year-old joins an exclusive club, becoming just the 10th player in MLB history to reach 50 homers in a season before his age-23 season.
