Having already collected two hits, including a double earlier in the game, Gelof came up to the plate looking for more in the sixth inning. He sneaked a hit through the infield and turned on the jets, reaching second base unscathed for his fourth hit and second double of the game. The knock made the 23-year-old the first Athletics player in history to reach 20 extra-base hits and score 20 runs in his first 28 career games.
