Zack Gelof

Friday night in Oakland saw a serious youth movement in manager Mark Kotsay's starting lineup. Penciled in at second base and making his Major League debut was the Club's number three overall prospect - 23-year-old Zack Gelof. The University of Virginia product ripped an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning off of Minnesota Twins starter Kenta Maeda, driving home teammate Brent Rooker, tying the contest at 2-2 and counting for both his first hit and RBI in the big leagues.
