Shohei Ohtani made noise in Queens Saturday evening. After unintentionally breaking some lights at Citi Field on a foul ball, Ohtani smashed a double (24) to center field just a couple of pitches later in the opening frame. In the very next inning, he laced a triple (8) down the right-field line. Still not done, the 29-year-old worked a walk in the fourth inning and stole second and third base to give him 19 swipes on the season. Saturday’s effort made Ohtani the first Angels player to collect multiple extra-base hits and stolen bases since Howie Kendrick did it in 2014.
