Last night, 22-year-old, third-ranked Boston Red Sox prospect Ceddanne Rafaela made his Major League Baseball debut and recorded his first hit. In the bottom of the eighth inning of his Club’s meeting with the Houston Astros, Rafaela was tapped to pinch hit before finding the gap in right-center field, dropping in an expertly placed single to open his big-league account. Needless to say, Rafaela’s debut earned him the applause of the home fans at Fenway Park and all eyes are on the Curaçaoan national to see what he makes happen next.
