Designated hitter Masataka Yoshida and shortstop Ceddanne Rafaela stepped up to help the Boston Red Sox come back on Friday, 5-3. Both hitters saved their lone knock of the night for when it mattered most, beginning with Yoshida’s game-tying, two-run blast with his team down to its final strike in the ninth inning. Rafaela one-upped his teammate’s effort with a two-run, go-ahead shot of his own in the 10th frame. The pair of two-run homers were enough to steal the dramatic Yankee Stadium win.
