Slugger Pete Alonso has been doing damage for the New York Mets in 2023. Having already knocked in a run in the first inning, Alonso had another chance to cash in with a man on first base in the third. The first baseman yanked a line-drive, two-run homer (40) to left field to give his team a 4-0 lead. Still not done, the “Polar Bear” crushed a solo shot to left-center field for his second homer (41) of the game and plated his 100th RBI of the campaign. The 28-year-old becomes the fifth player in MLB history with 40 or more homers in three of his first five seasons.
