George Springer

Toronto Blue Jays star George Springer gifted himself a birthday present in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the New York Yankees. The outfielder got his 34th birthday celebration started right away, hammering a leadoff solo shot to right field to give his Club a quick 1-0 advantage in the first inning. It's his 57th career leadoff homer, which is good for second on the all-time list. Springer joins Brandon Phillips (2015) as the second-oldest player to open a game with a leadoff blast since at least 1901.
