Mallory Swanson

The U.S. women’s national team began their quest for gold at the Olympics with a convincing 3-0 win over Zambia, thanks in large part to the heroic effort of Mallory Swanson. After Trinity Rodman opened the scoring with a goal in the 17th minute, Swanson added a goal seven minutes later. The forward tallied her second goal 66 seconds after that, setting a U.S. women’s all-time record. The historic goals also made Swanson just the sixth U.S. woman ever with multiple goals in the Olympic Games.
