It’s no secret that Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal is having a stellar season, and he continued his dominance in a home matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Facing fellow Cy Young Award contender Ranger Suárez, Skubal came out on top by firing seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits, walking one, and striking out seven in the 4-1 win. He joins Denny McLain as the only Tigers pitchers with a sub-2.50 ERA, 100+ Ks, and fewer than 20 BBs in their first 16 starts of a season.
