Lawrence Butler

Leadoff man Lawrence Butler provided a good chunk of the Oakland Athletics muscle during the team's power trip in Philly Sunday afternoon. The rookie outfielder went yard thrice in the 18-3 lipsided win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Butler's third homer of the day was a loud one, traveling an impressive 449 feet to right-center field at Citizens Bank Park. The 24-year-old contributed to eight team dingers in the triumph, tying a Club record for a single game (1996).
