Lawrence Butler

Lawrence Butler was more than ready to begin the Athletics contest against Atlanta, recording a leadoff inside-the-park homer in the 10-1 win. The outfielder socked a fastball to deep right-center field that ricocheted off the top of the wall. Butler turned on the jets for the Club’s first such leadoff longball since 1943 (Elmer Valo) and the first in general since 2006.
