New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has been one of the most prolific power hitters in Baseball since his debut in 2019, and the feat he achieved on Thursday proves it. The slugger clocked a 439-foot solo homer in the Mets 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, his 29th of the campaign. Furthermore, it was Alonso’s 221st career dinger, moving him past MLB Hall-of-Famer and Mets legend Mike Piazza for third all-time in franchise history.
