New York Mets slugger Pete Alonso delivered the biggest hit of his life on Thursday. With his team trailing the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Alonso stepped to the plate with two runners on and one out. The “Polar Bear” proceeded to crush a three-run shot, making him the first player in MLB history to hit a go-ahead homer while trailing in the 9th inning or later of a winner-take-all Postseason game. The Mets held on to win 4-2 and advance to the NL Division Series.
