On the verge of tallying his 2,000th career big-league hit, Manny Machado rose to the occasion. The San Diego Padres slugger's infield single in the fourth inning reached the historic mark, making him just the fifth active player to do so. Machado is also only the 12th player in MLB history to log that many knocks and 350 homers by his age-32 season.
