No MLB catcher has ever launched 20-plus homers along with 20-plus stolen bases in a single season until Ivan Rodriguez stole second base during the third inning of the matchup between the Texas Rangers and the Chicago White Sox. With this swiped bag, the 27-year-old backstop was at 24 longballs and 20 stolen bases with a month-and-a-half left in the 1999 season. Rodriguez would go on to collect 35 home runs and 25 stolen bases for the season and bring home the coveted AL MVP trophy.
