Pedro Martinez

Pedro Martinez made history in his first start of the 2007 season after his recovery from shoulder surgery. The three-time Cy Young Award winner took the mound for the New York Mets against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park in front of 29,290 fans. Martinez earned the win and fanned four batters over five innings pitched, which included his 3,000th career strikeout. Pedro accomplished this feat in the top of the second inning and became just the 15th pitcher in MLB hisorty to reach the 3,000-strikeouts mark
