On the 17-year anniversary of his first MLB home run, Reggie Jackson connected for his 500th career longball in a matchup between the California Angels and the Kansas City Royals. Despite trailing "7-0" heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the 28,862 fans at Anaheim Stadium were eager to see the future Hall of Famer make history. Jackson led off the inning and blasted the first pitch he saw to become the 13th player in MLB history to reach 500 career homers.
