Reggie Jackson

The Oakland Athletics met the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 1 of the 1974 World Series. Slugging Athletics outfielder Reggie Jackson opened the series’ scoring with a second-inning solo home run hit off Dodgers hurler Andy Messersmith. Famously, the Athletics ended up walking away from the series victorious, and many remember this iconic home run as being the catalyst for the Club’s World Series success.
