With the Padres trailing, 6-3, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Fernando Tatis Jr. was granted another chance to swing after Taylor Jones misplayed a fly ball in foul territory. Tatis Jr. did not waste the extra hack, hammering a line drive over the left-field wall to tie the score, 6-6. Tatis Jr. knew it was gone off the bat, as the superstar paused to admire his monstrous homer. The game-tying longball paid dividends for the Padres, as they eventually took the game, 11-8, in extra innings.
