Carl Yastrzemski

MAY 14, 1965 — Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Yrzemski hit for the 12th cycle in team history in front of 10,271 “Fenway Faithful.” The lefty slugger reached base safely in all six of his at-bats, finishing the day 5-for-5 with a walk. Carl had two homers in the game with a total of five RBI. Yastrzemski’s hot bat wasn’t enough to slow down the opposition, though, as the Boston Red Sox fell to the Detroit Tigers, 12-8, in extra innings.
