Carl Yastrzemski

APRIL 10, 1968 — As the 1967 AL MVP Award winner and AL Triple Crown king, Carl Yastrzemski arrived into Detroit on Opening Day 1968 riding pretty high. His two-homer performance in Boston's 7-3 win says that he doesn't want this feeling to end. “Yaz” led off the top of the seventh with a solo blast and then showed off his legs with an inside-the-park home run to put a cherry on top in the ninth.
