Bobby Dalbec of the Boston Red Sox and Frank Schwindel of the Chicago Cubs have been named AL and NL Rookies of the Month. Dalbec dominated over 24 games played in August, carrying a .339 batting average and a towering 1.205 OPS. The Seattle, Washington, first basemen also clubbed seven longballs and drove in 21 total runs. Over to the NL, Schwindel was claimed off waivers by the Cubs in mid-July and has certainly filled the void following Anthony Rizzo's departure. Over 26 games played in August, the 29-year-old slugger held a .344 batting average, 1.030 OPS and launched six homers.
